Sorry for the hiatus yet again! The start to my summer has been quiet the whirlwind! I finished up my junior year, packed up my dorm room, drove to the Kentucky Derby, started work that Monday, then on Friday I was off to Virginia for the weekend.
Now that I’m finally starting to feel like a human being again, I intended on writing this post on Monday night so that it would be locked and loaded for this morning… but then the Bachelorette was on:
Getting back to the tunes- Alphabeat’s “DJ” (Madeon Remix) was blasting all weekend during my visit to W&L. It’s been out for more than a year, but this song has gone “mind-control” on me like Zach Galifianakis in Dinner For Schmucks.
I can’t say as I’ve ever been torn between two remixes… but in the case of Wynter Gordon’s “Still Getting Younger”, I’m torn between the Third Party remix and the eSquire remix. No one ever said ya had to pick, so why not enjoy both! (and let me know which you prefer!)
Childish Gambino‘s album Camp has been out for awhile now, but it took me awhile to get around to actually listening to the whole thing. The track “Kids” resonated the most with me. The hook is eerie good, I’m not sure if the rest of his lyrics really jive with the song, but given Gambino’s comedic background on 30 Rock… anything he touches turns to gold in my book.
Given the heat and popularity of the book Fifty Shades of Grey, I feel like I’m obligated to mention Huey Mack‘s version of Mike Posner’s “Looks Like Sex”. After all, Na Palm says it best, “Dirty girls like dirty beats”.
Till next time.
